Services — Non-Opioid Pain Management
Real relief.
Without the risks.
Chronic pain deserves better than a prescription that masks it, creates dependency, or leaves you trading one problem for another. Our non-opioid pain management program offers clinically validated alternatives — tools that address the biology of pain rather than simply suppressing the signal.
A different approach to pain
You've tried the standard path.
There's another one.
Chronic pain is not one condition. It is a collection of overlapping biological, neurological, and inflammatory processes — each of which can be addressed with precision. The right tool for the right mechanism produces results that opioids cannot, because they are targeting the root of the problem rather than numbing the response to it.
Conventional opioid management
Suppresses the pain signal — does not address its cause
High risk of tolerance — increasing doses over time
Dependency and withdrawal risk
Cognitive and hormonal side effects
Does not improve function or quality of life long-term
vs
Our non-opioid program
Targets the biological drivers of chronic pain
No tolerance — effects are cumulative, not diminishing
No dependency or withdrawal
No cognitive impairment or hormonal disruption
Aims to restore function, not just reduce sensation
Treatment options
An integrated approach — not a limited menu
Chronic pain rarely has a single cause — and it rarely responds to a single treatment. Our non-opioid pain management program draws from the full range of services available across our practice: chiropractic care, physical therapy, exercise therapy, massage therapy, laser therapy, red light therapy, functional medicine, and more.
What sets this program apart is Kiley’s ability to add prescription-level non-opioid tools to that integrated foundation — options that most practices simply don’t offer. The following represent key additions Kiley brings to your care plan. They are not the ceiling of what’s available to you. They are an expansion of it.
Prescription option
Low Dose Naltrexone
LDN · prescribed by Kiley Brown Newton, APRN
Naltrexone at standard doses blocks opioid receptors — used for addiction treatment. At a fraction of that dose, something different happens: the brief, temporary block triggers the body to produce more of its own natural pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory compounds. Think of it like turning down a dimmer switch just enough that the brain turns the lights up on its own — and keeps them there.
The result is a meaningful reduction in neuroinflammation, modulation of the immune response that drives chronic pain, and — for many patients — the first sustained relief they have experienced after years of inadequate management.
LDN has an expanding evidence base across a range of difficult-to-treat conditions, and carries none of the dependency, tolerance, or cognitive risks associated with opioid therapy. Kiley evaluates candidacy and manages all prescribing and monitoring.
Evaluation option
Medical Marijuana Card Evaluation
Kiley Brown Newton, APRN · state-certified evaluator
Medical cannabis engages the body’s endocannabinoid system — a regulatory network involved in pain signaling, inflammation, sleep, and immune function. For qualifying patients, it offers meaningful relief for a range of chronic pain conditions without the risks associated with opioid therapy.
Kiley Brown Newton, APRN is certified to conduct medical marijuana card evaluations in the state of Kentucky. The evaluation is a thorough clinical assessment of your medical history, current conditions, and qualifying criteria — conducted with the same clinical rigor applied across all of our services.
Medical cannabis does not replace clinical care — it complements it. Kiley helps patients understand how it fits into their broader pain management plan and coordinates with the rest of your care team accordingly.
In-clinic option
Low-Level Laser Therapy
Erchonia EVRL & PL-Touch · FDA cleared
Low-level laser therapy — also called cold laser — uses specific wavelengths of light to penetrate tissue and stimulate the cellular repair processes that reduce inflammation and pain at their source. It works entirely through photochemical mechanisms — no heat, no tissue damage, no side effects.
Our Erchonia EVRL and PL-Touch devices hold multiple FDA market clearances for musculoskeletal pain, including neck and shoulder pain, chronic low back pain, and plantar fasciitis. For chronic pain patients, laser therapy reduces the inflammatory burden that sustains pain cycles — and does so without any systemic effects or drug interactions.
Sessions are brief, painless, and integrate seamlessly alongside LDN or other components of your pain management plan.
In-clinic option
Red Light Therapy
Dahlia Pinnacle Bed · 4 wavelengths · 14-minute sessions
Where low-level laser targets specific sites of pain with clinical precision, our Dahlia Pinnacle Bed delivers full-body photobiomodulation — addressing systemic inflammation across the entire body simultaneously. Four independent wavelengths (630nm, 660nm, 850nm, 940nm) penetrate tissue at varying depths, stimulating mitochondrial repair, reducing inflammatory cytokines, and improving circulation to pain-affected tissue.
For chronic pain patients — particularly those with widespread inflammation, fibromyalgia, autoimmune-driven pain, or systemic conditions — the whole-body anti-inflammatory effect of regular red light sessions can produce meaningful reductions in baseline pain levels over time. Sessions are 14 minutes, comfortable, and require no recovery time.
